Job Opportunities Now Live on Rise Higher Detroit Transition Website
More than 1,200 individuals submit resumes to join the Mary Sheffield Administration
DETROIT—Opportunities to join the Sheffield Administration and shape Detroit’s next chapter are now available on the Rise Higher Detroit website. More job opportunities will be posted in the coming days. Mayor-elect Sheffield is assembling a talented, diverse team of leaders who bring deep expertise, lived experience, and the courage to put forward bold, innovative ideas that move Detroit forward.
Many of the job opportunities that will be available on the Rise Higher Detroit website are newly established positions that reflect the mayor-elect's vision of leadership. The creation of these new roles is a testament to promises she made during the campaign.
To date, more than 1,200 resumes have been submitted, demonstrating the overwhelming excitement for the new administration. Resumes are being reviewed and will be provided to the City of Detroit’s Human Resources department for consideration for open positions across city government beyond what’s posted on the Rise Higher Detroit website.
“As Detroit’s next Mayor, I am committed to building an administration that is ready to work on day one, filled with the best and brightest to ensure our administration delivers the caliber of service and dedication Detroiters deserve,” Mayor-elect Sheffield said. “I hope everyone visits our website and shares these job opportunities both locally and nationally. Together, we will build an administration that will help Detroit rise higher.”
Since Detroiters elected Mary Sheffield as their next mayor, the mayor-elect and Rise Higher Transition team have been working around the clock to assess city government and design the administration that will shape Detroit’s next chapter. In addition to posting job opportunities online, the Mayor-elect has brought in a team of experts, both locally and nationally, to assess and identify talent for the Sheffield Administration.

About Rise Higher Detroit
Rise Higher Detroit, the official transition initiative of Mayor-elect Mary Sheffield, aims to be the boldest and most inclusive engagement effort in Detroit’s history. The transition will help develop an official Transition Action Plan—a roadmap that reflects the voices, values, and aspirations of Detroiters. Together, we will help Mayor-Elect Sheffield realize her vision of an administration built on the voices and priorities of the people.
No public or campaign dollars are being used to fund the activities of the Rise Higher Detroit transition committee. The Mayor-elect and Detroit’s philanthropic community have collaborated to create a fund, established at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and supported by a variety of foundations and other civic institutions, to fund transition efforts, including community engagement and talent acquisition.
